The Vietnamese electricity sector plans to invest almost US$13.8 billion in upgrading or building 52 power plants with a combined capacity of 7,574 MW in the 2006-2010 period.
HANOI - The Vietnamese electricity sector plans to invest almost US$13.8 billion in upgrading or building 52 power plants with a combined capacity of 7,574 MW in the 2006-2010 period. The investment is aimed at producing 93 billion kWh by 2010 to meet the demands for socio-economic development. Of these power plants, 42 are hydro-electric plants, six coal-fuelled and four gas- fed ones.
