Double-spindle CNC lathes Of PAB Series
Intended for processing of workpieces like flanges, bushings, gearwheels, bearing rings etc. Processing may be executed either in way of consequent machining of both workpiece sides or in two parallel threads. Thus, full processing is made without of intermediate transportations and storage.
Main application field is small-, average- and full-scale machine-building production.
Twin-spindle machine occupies less area, contains less elements, than two single-spindle machines.
Configuration Features
The machine consists of two opposite spindle heads and crossed motion slide located between them. The slide design makes it possible to process workpieces consistently both on the first and on the other spindle. Such performance provides continuous operation of the machine since loading and unloading occurs during processing a workpiece on the other spindle.
The maximal efficiency is reached in short operational cycles, because non-productive losses of time are excluded since the loading-unloading of the workpiece happen simultaneously with processing on the other spindle. Therefore, the most of capital investments - in control system, slide and base elements of the machine are uninterruptedly effectively used, whereas cost of the twin-spindle machine unsignificantly exceeds cost of the single-spindle machine.
Component Parts
Control system - SIEMENS SINUMERIK 802D, drive - digital SIMOVERT and SIMODRIVE 611UE. Electric equipment - SCHNEIDER. Pneumatic - KAMOZZI.
Processing goes in automatic cycle. Control programs can be entered directly from the keyboard or to be loaded from the computer through the serial interface port.
Constant speed of cutting can be maintained.
Spindles lean on high-precision radial thrust bearings according to the following layout: three bearings in front rest with axial spindle fixation and two bearings in back rest. Spindle bearings are lubricated by viscous lubrication for all operation period.
The design of cross motioned slide provides convenient arrangement of processing accessories both on the left and on the right spindle. Hardened steel guide ways together with reinforced fluorocarbon polymer covering provide high durability and accuracy of moves. The slide is supplied with independent system of dosed lubrication.
Loading and Unloading of the Workpieces
Spindles are supplied with manipulators to unload the workpiece from chuck after processing and load the new workpiece from a tray. For transfer of workpieces from one spindle to another machine has integrated transportation system. The design of manipulators and transport system provide fast readjustment in the wide range of the workpieces dimensions
Tooling
Quick-change tool holders with preliminary adjustment outside the machine provide the minimal time losses on the cutting tool changing.
