Universal Lathes КА-280 and КА-163
Universal lathes КА-280 and КА-163 of normal accuracy are intended for machining of different steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and other materials parts. Also, it is possible to machine well-tried parts requiring heavy cutting parameters (for example, from heat resisting and tool steels).
The lathes can execute turning, thread-cutting (metric, inch, modular, pitch type of threads) and drilling.
The machine tools spindle unit and bed have enhanced rigidity. The rigid bed derivates a frame carrying structure, improves dynamic capabilities of the machine elastic system, allows to intensify cutting parameters and increases overall performance of the lathe.
The basic field of application is small-batch and individual machine-building manufacturing.
At request machinetools can be equipped with a motorized drive of the upper saddle carriage, device of electronic indication of saddle and carriage position in longitudinal and cross directions, drilling-milling device installed on the bed, a stepless transmission, and others.
On the basis of KA-280 lathe various versions are being developed including:

machinetool with an upgraded feedbox and apron that has a drive of carriage and saddle rapid traverse in four directions. This considerably reduce losses of time and makes it possible to increase the machine-tool productivity
